The Dodge City Legend made Caswell Cyrus, a 6'-9", 220-pound center from St. Bonaventure their first pick in the United States Basketball League Draft . The Legend had the number two pick in the draft after the Oklahoma Storm picked Oklahoma State guard Doug Gottlieb.

Cyrus was an imposing center for the Bonnies, who made their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 22 years memorable by losing to Kentucky in double-overtime. Cyrus grabbed 18 rebounds against the Wildcats. He earned Atlantic-10 All-Conference honors, averaging 12 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots per game as a senior. He is St. Bonaventure's all time leader in blocked shots.

"Caswell is a tremendous athlete," Legend General Manager Tom Nelson said. "He can sprint the length of the court in three and-a-half seconds, combines a team best 36 and-a-half-inch vertical jump with a 375-pound bench press for an outstanding combination of speed, strength and athletic ability."

The Legend also picked two members of the Kansas Jayhawks: Nick Bradford in the third round and Ashante Johnson in the seventh.
